Schedule
Tuesday and Thursday Evenings, this position is for two to three 60-minute instructional periods between 4:40- 9:00, with the exact times to be discussed. Teachers in the program will also attend monthly planning and ongoing program meetings (First Tuesday of every month, January to June, 3:30 - 4:40).
Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority:
Works under the supervision of the Director of Alternative Education and the Director of English Language Education
Compensation:
$2,880.00 Stipend per one-hour course.

Statement of Duties:
- Develop, implement and consistently monitor goals and objectives for and with students Assist in assessment of students considered for Alternate Pathway to Graduation
- Work collaboratively using current strategies and pedagogy
- Provide a positive structured environment, addressing appropriate Mathematics standards
- Provide a positive learning environment for all students in the program Communicate regularly with parents of students in order to develop a strong home/school partnership
- Participate in on-going planning, implementing, and evaluation of curriculum Carry out daily responsibilities of the classroom in person with students
- Attend program meetings including, but not limited to, a regular standard program monthly meeting.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Alternative Education, building Principal, Director of ELE, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Learning or the Superintendent of Schools
Qualifications:
- SEI endorsement required
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education as a Teacher in History (covering grades 9-12).
- Bachelor’s or higher earned academic degree
- Demonstrated ability and strength in working with all learners
- Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) a plus
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.
